Effective policy-making will be critical to supporting efforts, particularly in developing and least developed countries, to promote innovation and advance sustainable development.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"wp-block-itu-layout-section-block\"><div class=\"itu-container\"><div class=\"width-limit\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:33.33%\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">WTPF-21: International Policy Forum<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<p>WTPF-21 will convene policy-makers from across the globe, providing a venue for exchanging views and knowledge to create shared vision on issues arising from the emergence of new telecommunication\/ICT services and technologies. It will also consider any other policy issue in telecommunications\/ICTs which would benefit from a global exchange of views, in addition to the adoption of opinions reflecting common viewpoints (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.itu.int\/en\/council\/Documents\/basic-texts\/RES-002-E.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Resolution 2<\/a>&nbsp;(Rev. Dubai, 2018)).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"wp-block-itu-layout-section-block\"><div class=\"itu-container\"><div class=\"width-limit\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:33.33%\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Focus on new, emerging digital technologies<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<p>The theme for WTPF-21 \u2013 decided by&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.itu.int\/md\/S20-CL-C-0081\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Decision 611<\/a>&nbsp;(Rev. Council 2020) at the 2019 Session of ITU Council \u2013 is \u201cPolicies for mobilizing new and emerging telecommunications\/ICTs for sustainable development: The WTPF-21 would discuss how new and emerging digital technologies and trends are enablers of the global transition to the digital economy.
